Boats put Hong Kong on the map: the Tanka fishermen’s junks, the smugglers’ lorchas and the tea clippers of the China trade. Then came the taipans’ leisure yachts. Before the age of return flights to Phuket, Hong Kong’s happy few fled the city every week-end by transferring to their yachts with their retinue of clients, family and friends.
Not everything has changed over the last century and Hong Kong waters are still the best place to escape the scalding summer heat.
Taipan Charters gives its clients access to some of Hong Kong’s most iconic, privately-owned yachts, providing them with an unforgettable, classic cruising experience.
