N°1, Sailing Junk

40 guests

HKD 18,000 for 8 hours

Lying in Aberdeen

香江壹號, N°1 for short, is one of the last authentic sailing junk built in the Pearl River estuary. It was launched in Macao in 1981 and worked as a fishing junk for 20 years. Recommissioned as a leisure vessel in 2001, N°1 cruised Macao waters for another twenty years before transferring to Hong Kong, where she is now now available for charter in the S.A.R.’s top cruising destinations. There is simply no other boat like her in Hong Kong: a true icon of a bygone age.

Well sheltered from the sun and rain, her spacious main deck will accommodate up to 40 guests. With plenty of benches on both sides, the wide open space in the center will accommodate any configuration of tables and chairs: seated dinner, buffet, stage for a live band, etc. In the evening, the quarter deck offers a perfect setting for having drinks while enjoying the open views, while main deck is sheltered enough to have a dinner in any season. Those who want to take the sun can lie on the quarterdeck, while those interested in crewing can help hoist the sails and weigh anchor, working the capstans under captain David’s expert direction.

Options include a sunset sail on Victoria Harbour, private dinners and cocktail parties in Hong Kong’s at anchor or underway and a day out on the South Side.

Price: HKD 18,000 for up 8 hours daytime and/or night-time. Prices include crew, fuel and ice. Prices apply to all cruising destinations around Hong Kong island; pick-up and drop-off in Aberdeen or Noonday Gun (Causeway Bay). For other cruising destinations, extra fuel charges apply.
